FAQs

You’ve got questions; here’s some answers. Feel free to reach out at anytime with any additional questions you may have!

Is therapy right for me?
I believe therapy is beneficial to all. Therapy that helps you understand how your past impacts your present. It helps you reconnect with your internal experiences (emotions, thoughts, sensations), promotes vitality, and helps you overcome barriers that hinder your pursuit of happiness.
I'm ready to get started. What next?
Please schedule a free, 15-minute phone consultation via my online scheduler. During our consultation, you will have the opportunity to discuss why you are seeking therapy and ask any questions you have about therapy with me. We will collectively determine whether we are a good fit via online therapy. If you and/or I believe your needs would be better met by another care provider or type of care, I am happy to provide referrals.
Where do sessions take place?
I provide online therapy (also known as "teletherapy") using HIPAA-compliant video conferencing software. Although I am a therapist in the Los Angeles area, I provide online therapy to people residing throughout California.
What are your session fees?
Your initial 15-minute consultation with me is free. My session fee is comparable with other doctoral-level therapists in the Los Angeles area. Please contact me for more information about fees.

Session fees will be collected in full at the time of service via Zelle, credit or debit card before session. A credit or debit card is required and held on file for the 24-hour cancellation policy. I accept the following forms of payments: Visa, MasterCard, American Express.

I also accept FSA and HSA cards, but insurance reimbursement is not guaranteed. Please check with your provider if this is a form of payment you would like to use.
Do you accept insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider. You may have out-of-network mental health coverage through your insurance company, particularly if you have a PPO health insurance plan. Depending on your plan, your insurance company may reimburse you 50-80% of each session fee. I am happy to provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance provider for partial reimbursement for services. I encourage you to check with your insurance provider first to verify coverage for teletherapy services. *Please call regarding Superbill*
What are my rights under the No Surprises Act?
You have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services.

Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service. You can also ask your health care provider for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
What happens during a consultation?
During the consultation, you and I will discuss why you are seeking therapy. What would you like to work through? What brings you here? Based on what you share, I will assess whether or not I can help you. If we are a good fit, I will share with you how I plan to help you reach your goals. This is also an opportunity for you to interview me. Ask me questions about how I practice, ask yourself if you feel comfortable speaking with me and ask me about fees.
How long will therapy take?
Depending on the types of changes you are looking to make and the variety of struggles you are looking to work on, therapy can last from a few sessions to much longer.
How long is each session?
Individual Therapy Session: 55 mins
Couples Counseling: 60 - 90 mins
Coaching: 50 mins
What is your cancellation policy?
My cancellation policy requires 24-hour notice of cancellation. Cancellation with less than 24 hours notice requires payment in full.
How often do I see you for therapy?
Once a week is standard for individual therapy, couples counseling, and coaching, though you are welcome to seek more sessions during the week.
Is therapy confidential?
Confidentiality is one of the most important components in therapy, as successful therapy requires a high degree of trust. With few exceptions, the highly sensitive material that is discussed between you and me will not be shared with anyone else without your permission. In addition, therapists are legally mandated to make certain disclosures in cases where there is suspicion of harm to oneself, harm to others, or abuse. All such disclosures will be discussed with you in advance.
What are your credentials?
I am a Clinical Psychologist licensed to practice in the state of California (PSY32454)
Do you offer video or telephone sessions?
Yes. As of now, due to COVID-19 safety precautions, all sessions are conducted via video or phone.
